monday morning

I'm thinking about yummy soy lattes topped with raw sugar, leather bags and denim on denim and wishing the town I lived in wasn't so hilly. I love cruiser bikes!

Pretty pictures from here

business cards

I need to redesign my Roma business card. I have about 200 left over from a few years ago that I got made at Vista Prints. Vista did a great job but this time around, I'm looking for something more crafty. I am also going to need a hang tag, which I am still deciding on if the business card could do both. While I figure these things out, I'm just going to do a bit of inspiration research to see what others are doing with their business cards.

c.r.a.f.t. handmade these out of cereal boxes. I love the stamp, stitching and reusing the boxes. Realistically though, I think that would be too time consuming for me, but this is a great idea!

I love the pop stitching of the card behind 100 layer cake. It's from ready go, but this images if from oh, hello friend.

I love the simplicity of this card, complimented by the stitching and fabric. From Ruthi Auda

I realized all of these card are very similar...stitching, stamps, and brownish backgrounds. oops. I'll keep looking for more ideas.

a few years ago....

Here are some photos that my husband (but at the time he was my boyfriend and what a great boyfriend he was!) took about 4 years ago. I received an order from an online boutique and these are a few of the products I made for them. I love looking back on old photos like this. It's fun to see changes that take place and where did that hat go?

salvaged headboard

Check out Dana's, from her blog House tweakin,  DIY headboard made out of salvage fence boards. I love taking materials that most people would like are trash and turning them into something beautiful. It's a fun challenge as well as a great exercise in practicing being sustainable. Someday, when we have a place of our own, we are definitely going to make something like this.

labels

Below is my old label. I ordered a stamp and would either stamp it on the interiors or stamp it on extra material and then sew it on. I feel like I need something new, something fresh, unique, and sustainable. I did some research and found these. I enjoy the simplicity of them and the ease of sewing them on to the product.

My old Roma label.

JennyN designs leather bags that are simple and elegant. Here is her label she sews into the interiors of her bags.

I love Scout&Catalogue! I love the jewels (the wing) that she sews into most of her pieces.

I like the side stitching on this tag from Forest Bound. It would be fun to add some color with the stitching to a label like this.

i love long weekends!

( via )
3 day weekends are the best! I'm planning on going splitboarding with Ben and friends at Mt Adams, drinking hot chocolate, relaxing around our bonfire and trying my hand at making bread. I'm so excited!

{ thankful thursdays }

photo via
I've decided that every Thursday, I'm going to make a list of things I'm thankful for because life is too short and precious to be focused on the negative, and God is too good!

"Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" - Psalm 106:1

So today, for my first { thankful thursday } I am thankful for...

1.) God's peace that has the power to calm anxious hearts
2.) My husband's enthusiastic joy in the morning - I'm not a morning person
3.) Mint green tea - a refreshing morning wake up beverage
4.) 10 minute, no traffic commute to work
5.) Blueberry, almond, flax seed oatmeal my friend Jessa made me - yummy!

roma video from college

Here is a video that was made about my roma bags while I was in college. I was so nervous to be interviewed! Watch it to learn more about Roma and my design process.

colors, details and packaging

After posting about brown paper bags, I totally got lost in the blog world of packaging and couldn't resist posting these images of packaging with colors. I love the unique shapes and patterns. Above is from Lisa at A Creative Mint. She also post on Decor8 in a category called Color Me Pretty. Check it out for more themed colored packaging,

Another fun idea from mint, spray paint newspaper!

Maranon jewelry

Tribal is currently a hot trend in high end fashion right now. It seems to be everywhere on Summer 2011 collections. I find the colors and patterns fresh and inspiring. When I came across spinthread on etsy, I had to share. All of her pieces are hand embroidered with colorful geometric shapes. I feel like if someone from NYC or L.A. found her, she would be an instant hit!

What to do with thoes color cards?

I've always wondered what you can do with those fun color cards that you can get in the paint section at your local hardware. They just have so much potential, all of those colors in perfect square shapes. One of these days I'm definitely going to have to play with them and see what I can come up with.

This morning I stumbled upon Jen at The Haystack Needle. She took these cards and made house warming invites. What a great idea!
