It's been awhile....I've been busy traveling the world for my day job and going on adventures with my husband. However, I miss creating and if you would like to see my daily doodles, please feel free to follow me on my instagram account. Thanks for visiting!
Visited France for work and play this month. Here is a quick doodle session
inspired by the Alps. Oh how much I will miss the mountains, cheese
and wine!!

My bestfriend's mom told me this once when I was little. Amen. We went to Roger's Pass over the Christmas holiday and wowie, God took my breath away! We had a great crew of friend this day touring up Grizzly shoulder to Grizzly Mountain. Photo by Garret Grove.
I've been
thinking about what it means "to write", "to stay in contact" and what
it takes to continue to develop long distance relationships. I have many
friends, whom I dearly care about, who live far away and keeping in
contact is difficult. Fortunately email and Facebook makes it easy.
However, what about people who don't email or Facebook!? And who are
those crazy people that don't email and Facebook?! Easy. Grandparents.
At least the ones that are familiar with computers are few and far
between.
One
of my New Year resolutions is to draw more as well as to write. As I
was brainstorming how I can make these happen, I thought "why not put
these two together?". Draw on cards and write letters! Perfect. So that
it what I'm going to do! Each month I'm going to draw on cards for my
Grandparents and write them letters. I'll post them each month to share
with you!
These are the first batch of cards. Well actually I did my first batch in
January as "Christmas Thank You's" but they weren't that exciting. But
these are fun! In lieu of Valentine's Day this month, I decided to go
with a love theme. And who better represents love then God? I found some
bible verses about love and rocked out to Bethel Church worship
while I drew. It was great! I also included pictures of our snowboard
trip last month (which I will share with you later). I think they turned
out pretty good.
I've been busy and sadly have had no time to sew. Since moving into a new place, I have not yet set up my sewing machine. So Sad. But life is great and we are pursuing other adventures! We've been working diligently at our new jobs, snowboarding, traveling and cooking. I have plans to post my creative projects on this blog weekly, so stay tuned!
As some of you may know, my husband Ben and brother Mike went on a mission trip to Thailand a few weeks ago. They took some of the youth from our church and helped out an organization called Remember Nhu, more info here. I had a purse party a while back to help fundraise for the trip and through other generous donors, every child and leader had their trip paid for! PTL!
The trip overall was a huge success, totally life changing and wonderful. The stories are still trickling in and plans to go back are being dreamt up. Here are a few pictures from the trip...enjoy! And thank you to everyone who support Ben and Mike!
We've been very sad and somber, his death has rocked our community, especially our youth group. Forest was highly active in our church and youth group and was planning on going on the Thailand mission trip (which they flew out today). He was nothing but a joy to be with, always smiling and positive as well as a talented artist and skateboarder.
It's robbery that Forest passed at such a young age but we have hope in our grief. God has brought a lot of good out of this horrible situation. Time is healing everyone's wounds. Our prayers go out to the Andrew's family, we love you guys!!
Please check out this amazing song "You make beautiful things" by the band Gungor. They played it at Forest's celebration of life last Saturday.
I've linked up with Gussy Sews and have decided to participate in her inspirational workshop every Thursday. It's a community of creative bloggers that blog every Thursday about their inspiration in a topic that Gussy chooses. I thought it would be a fun exercise and opportunity to connect with other creative bloggers. It will also help to encourage me to blog because right now, my life is a bit crazy and unfortunately I have no time to sew.
This week's prompt is kitchens. Because of summer and the abunance of fruit in my town, I decided to blog about smoothies, YUMMY! Growing up, my family would make smoothies as afternoon snack on hot summer days. I loved them! Below I've listed a few of my favorites that I found and are going to try this summer. A mix of healthy and fun, all the while being unique.
